What We Catch in Sabine Pass

The unique ecosystem of Sabine Pass, Sabine Lake, and the nearby Gulf Coast provides world-class inshore and nearshore fishing opportunities year-round. Here is a look at the premier species we target on our charters:

  • Speckled Trout: A Gulf Coast favorite. Highly active in Sabine Lake and surrounding marsh bays, known for aggressive strikes and great light-tackle action.

  • Redfish (Red Drum): From slot reds in the marsh to hard-fighting Bull Reds out by the jetties, these fish deliver an incredible battle for anglers of all skill levels.

  • Flounder: Prized for their unique stealth and exceptional table fare, caught during seasonal runs and structure drops.

  • Black Drum & Sheepshead: Frequently found cruising structure and jetties. Sheepshead offer a fun challenge with their tricky bite, while big Black Drum put up a heavy, bulldog fight.

  • Coastal Sharks: Targeted near the jetties for anglers looking for high-adrenaline, action-packed heavy tackle battles.
